From Service to Strength
Karl's Journey: A real life case study in endurance, recovery, and leadership under pressure.
Translating adversity into practical lessons on resilience, leadership, and decision-making under pressure.
At 18, Karl deployed to Iraq with the British Army during Operation Telic. While on patrol in Basra, his armoured vehicle was attacked with petrol bombs during sustained rioting. He suffered life-changing burns across a significant portion of his body.
What followed was not a single moment of recovery, but years of reconstruction — physically, mentally, and emotionally. Multiple surgeries. Long rehabilitation. A complete reset of identity and direction.
Project Fire and Ice.
Project Fire and Ice was a fundraising adventure for SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity - featuring four famous veterans - Jason "Foxy" Fox, Karl Hinett, Brian Wood (MC) and Aldo Kane - who took on a 514 kilometre Arctic Ultra, through the snow-covered forests of Swedish Lapland in March 2025.

Karl Hinett is a former British Army soldier, endurance athlete, and keynote speaker whose credibility is built in environments where pressure is real and consequences are permanent.
His journey spans operational deployment, life-changing injury, long-term recovery, and extreme endurance performance. Each chapter informs how he now helps organisations and individuals operate effectively through adversity, uncertainty, and sustained challenge.
